That's really interesting. It seems to happen a lot, doesn't it, that the "freak of the week" or whoever has a targeted interest in Lana - and it's always cast as kind of creepy, and rightly so. But Clark's watching her through his telescope, and that's supposed to be so sweet and innocent and endearing because he makes puppy dog eyes while he's doing it? Of course I do have affection for Clark, and I get what they were trying to do with first love and she's-got-a-boyfriend and all that other stuff, but ... still, it's hypocritical. But then again, I guess it just bears out how Clark behaves in ways he wouldn't permit in others - even at this early point.

If I wanted to get my feminist up I could probably have a field day with Lana ... she's constantly objectified and commoditized.
