To get people chatting I thought I'd start an episode of the week discussion. Makes sense to start with Pilot as that's when it all began. So, post your thoughts, comments, favourite screencaps, whatever you want.

To me there is little not to love about this episode (apart from the Clana of course). We have the wonderful first (ok, and only) on screen kiss between Clark and Lex, the gift of the truck, Lex being all hot and fencing and those first lingering glances between the boys.

I think Lex is pretty much smitten with Clark from the first moment he sees him and with Clark it's when he sees Lex fencing.

It was the start of something beautiful

My favourite part of this episode was Lex cutting Clark down from the cross. Clark is always trying to save people - it's what he does. But this was the first time that someone tried to save Clark. They could have called it even at that point - Clark saved Lex, Lex saved Clark. But they didn't. That's what I love.

For me, Pilot is still one of the best first episodes of any show ever. It was so good and the kiss between Clark and Lex was the best thing about the whole thing.

I have screen caps to share. :)

Great comm! I'd like to join. I just hope there's no Clark bashing here. It totally ruins my fun. :(

This looks like an awesome comm. Clexy love for S1-S3, exactly what I want and none of this later stuff that I ignore! Thanks for starting it up.

And yes, more love for the way Lex and Clark meet.

Sorry to stumble across this site so late, but this entry got me thinking. Who besides the jocks who strung Clark up know that he was the scarecrow his freshman year? Lex, of course, since he got Clark down, and Lex deliberately nudged Lana into the realization, but is there anyone else? Clearly, Clark didn't tell his parents at the time, since Jonathan was all buddy-buddy with Whitney the next morning, but did Jonathan and/or Martha ever find out later? At the time, neither Pete nor Chloe ever expressed any guilt that they were off having fun at the dance while Clark was hanging out there, barely clinging to life, but mightn't one or both might have heard school gossip about it at some point? Did anyone else close to Clark ever realize? And, if not, what difference might it have made in the way Clark's family and friends viewed Lex to know that Lex had very likely saved Clark's life soon after Clark had saved his? *ponders*

Um. *asks ignorant question* How would I go about doing that?

Anyone else thinks that it's a little weird that Lex is listening to a love song by the Calling when he hits Clark? I've always found that a little strange. Watching it today, I'm wondering if someone involved in that episode wanted the fans to Clex. ;)
