What was the defining Clex moment for you? When did they become your Smallville OTP?

For me it's hard to place. I think the first time I properly squeed over them was in Shimmer where Lex jumps into Clark's arms when the door bursts open. That was when I went from thinking they were cute to properly slashing them

In Craving when Lex goes to the Torch office. That look he gives Clark as he's leaving said it all for me. From that moment on, I knew Lex wanted to do naughty things to Clark and I knew Clark wanted Lex to do those things. Also the fact that Lex tells Clark why he lost his hair added to the slashiness.

I don't know why it took me so long to latch onto the slashiness of Clark and Lex. Usually I pick up on these things right away and hell it's pracitcally canon in Season 1

It wasn't so much a moment as a realization that jfc013 forced to me have. She was posting to one of my Yahoo groups and said that she "saw" things a different way. I read like a dozen of her Clex stories that afternoon with my mouth agape and was like 'Whoa! She's right!' From then on, I could only see Clex.

It was sort of the same with me really. I knew Clark/Lex was a major pairing in the Smallville fandom so I read some fic and it changed the way I watched the show. LOL. It became much more interesting

OH SO much more interesting! The joke I had was that I wanted to shoot the writers and get Janet to write them all. I would have given up a long time ago if it wasn't for the Clex.

Oh, I think we've all dreamed about replacing the actual writers of the show with fic writers. I know I have. LOL

Sadly I have pretty much given up on the show these days. I can't bear to watch any of Season 6 so I'm just pretending it's not there

I think they pretty much became my OTP from the first moment they crashed into one another, but the scene that cemented it was the one with Lex's model of the Trojan war. It's all in the looks that they exchange. Lex is giving Clark such knowing, flirtatious looks and Clark's got that whole shy but interested vibe in response. *points at icon*

Uh, they were kind of my Smallville OTP before I even started watching the show. I only started watching about a year ago (it seems so much longer!) because of magdelena1969. I was a big fan of her writing in the HP fandom but for a little while all she was writing was Clex. I finally gave in and started reading her Clex fics because I was so desperate for anything written by her and fell in love with the Clex. Then I found the Clex recs list on her website, which she has since taken down :( . It was only later that I actually started watching the show. So my viewpoint was skewed to the Clex right from the beginning. :P

I didn't start watching until S4, so "Devoted" definitely started making me think "there's something going on between them". Then, I saw S1 on ABCFamily, and pretty much the entire season sold me on the Clex.

Honestly, the CLex had me in its grip from that first kiss on the riverbank, with Clark begging Lex not to die and Lex looking up at him as if he'd seen an angel. *happy purr* Though the scene in "Shimmer" was adorable, too. (I think Lex was actually shoved into Clark's arms by the invisible kid rushing out the door. I like it either way, though.)

(late to the party) Thanks to a random rec (from Torch I believe) I started reading Omar's TWoP recaps and then Clex fic about halfway through first season, caught eps on occasion but found myself happier with just the fandom, overall. Kept reading fic on and off for the next 5 years, and the in one fell swoop decided to get into it wholesale this December and finally bite the bullet and watch the dang show. Am not regretting it yet ^^

Had I been watching the show, if I hadn't fallen for them in their first scene together (c'mon, destiny! car crashes! mouth to mouth! can you get more romantic? Do I have weird views of romance?) it would have been in X-ray. The "I'm not a criminal mastermind" "No, a criminal mastermind would've worn a mask..." scene is the cutest moment ever. (most especially Lex's 'dude! stop flirting with me in front of your MOM!' look ^__^)
