Mad lib

 

Before reading, choose a list of words correlating to the types requested. (ex. Noun – truck) Fill in your choices while reading and enjoy the silliness. LIST: bodily fluid, adjective, noun, verb, noun, noun, verb.

Pete, Clark, and Chloe sat at their table at the Beanery, trying to not allow any skin to come in contact with the vinyl of their chairs. They waited, agitated, until the air-conditioning could work its magic on their _______ slicked skin.

"If it gets any hotter this summer, I am giving up clothes and sitting in an ice bath all day." Chloe stated on an exasperated sigh.

Pete twitched nervously in his seat at the mention of Chloe walking around naked and ____ all day for the entire summer. "Do you think are iced coffee’s are ready yet, it seems to be taking a long time."

"You know, if you two want to join me, Lex said I could come over and swim at his house this afternoon. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind if you guys came along." Clark smiled at the half-asleep waitress as she set their drinks down on the ________.

"Seriously Clark," Chloe franticly spoke, "you think he’d let us come over?"

"Sure, Lex won’t mind."

"What won’t I mind Clark?" Lex ______ a chair up to the table to join the moist looking teens.

"Hey Lex, I was just telling them you wouldn’t mind if they joined me this afternoon for a swim at your house. It’s just so hot, Chloe was thinking of becoming a nudist!"

Pete choked on the ______ he was swallowing. Chloe tried to help by patting his back.

"You ok there Pete? I know it’s hot, but your supposed to suck on the ice, not swallow. Got it Pete, suck first, then swallow."

Lex and Pete shared a fleeting glance while Clark stared at Lex with rosy stained cheeks. "Got it Chloe", Pete answered.

"Well, I think it would be fine if the two of you joined Clark this afternoon, I won’t be back from my meeting until after you have arrived. Clark, you will need to inform the kitchen ______ that there will be two more for dinner."

"Sure Lex."

"Fantastic, I’ll finally get a chance to wear that new bikini I bought!" Chloe grinned at no one in particular.

Lex smirked at the nervous smile Pete flashed the group at Chloe’s declaration.

"Oh shoot. I just remembered my dryer shredded my suit last week before my Dad fixed it. I’m going to be stuck wearing that Speedo my aunt brought me back from her trip to Sweden last summer."

Pete smirked back at Lex after Clark’s declaration.

"Well, I should get ________, wouldn’t want to be late." Lex said as he was standing.

"Sure Lex, see ya later!" Clark called out.

Lex left the Beanery feeling more than a little uncomfortable, and it had nothing to do with the summer heat.
